Calculating time between current time and a given time - Logic issue

I have a String; 2:00pm . Now i need to take the current time and calculate the time remaining/exceeded to the time indicated in the above string. note: in brief - I need to calculate the Time remaining/Time exceeded the string 2:00pm, and display it in Days, hours, Minutes and seconds.
